Research and evidence can help public services to improve their effectiveness. The government has invested heavily in health research over the years, but less so in social care but this has changed in the recent past. Social care is now a high priority.
The Curiosity Partnership aims to build the infrastructure for councils and academics, working together with citizens and local communities, to develop and use research that improves social care.
The project consists of four key work areas:
Capacity Building
Creating research communities by bringing together people with similar research interests to tackle real world problems.
Priority Setting
Setting research priorities to develop a strategy for evidence collection.
Training
Upskilling council staff and academics through the social care academy with training events, mentoring and development opportunities.
Championing Research
Raising the profile of social care research across Yorkshire and Humber through secondments, funding and reciprocal opportunities.
